Microsoft has discreetly revealed a "digital event" set for later this month, concentrating on Surface, Windows, and Copilot. Scheduled for March 21st, the event, themed "new era of work," is tailored for Microsoft's business clientele. It will showcase new commercial versions of Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6, emphasizing Microsoft's upcoming AI enhancements for Windows 11. According to insider information, the updates for the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 in the commercial realm will involve minor specification improvements. Additionally, an OLED display option for the Surface Pro 10 for consumers is anticipated to be unveiled later this spring.

The upcoming Surface Laptop 6 is anticipated to be particularly noteworthy, featuring a redesigned look with slimmer display bezels, rounded corners, a haptic touchpad, and the inclusion of two USB-C and one USB-A ports. Microsoft is reportedly planning to release models powered by both Intel Core Ultra and Snapdragon X Elite, with the Intel versions expected in April and the Arm variants in June.

The event description for Microsoft's March event indicates a low-key focus on scaling AI in environments with Copilot, Windows, and Surface. This aligns with Microsoft's emphasis on the "AI PC" initiative. Additionally, a new AI Explorer experience for Windows 11 is in development, offering an advanced version of the AI assistant. This feature aims to catalog user activities on the PC, allowing searches for specific moments in a timeline using natural language. Microsoft previously attempted a similar concept with the Timeline feature in Windows 10, but due to limited app support, it didn't gain traction and was eventually removed.
