One UI 6.1.1 is coming to older Galaxy devices with enhanced AI features

One UI 6.1.1 set to launch on older Galaxy Devices with new AI features

Samsung has confirmed on its South Korea forum which devices will receive One UI 6.1.1, along with several AI enhancements. Eligible devices include the Galaxy S22, S23, and S24 series, as well as foldable models from the last two years and two generations of tablets.

One UI 6.1.1 was previously believed to be the reason behind the delay of One UI 7 due to its AI updates. With the latest foldables getting this update, Samsung is now officially announcing which other devices will be included.

Social media tipster Tarun Vats shared Samsung's list of supported devices on X. According to the post, owners of the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy S23 series (including the S23 FE), and Galaxy S24 series can expect the update soon.

Additionally, earlier foldable models such as the Galaxy Z Flip 4, Flip 5, Fold 4, and Fold 5 will also be eligible. Finally, the Tab S8 and Tab S9 series tablets will receive the One UI 6 update as well.

A Samsung community manager confirmed that new AI-powered camera features will be available for older devices following the launch of the Flip 6 and Fold 6 with One UI 6.1.1. These features include "Generative AI" tools like Portrait Studio and Sketch to Image, allowing users to alter photos in various styles such as "comic," 3D character, and watercolor. The Sketch to Image feature lets users draw on a photo, and the AI will enhance it.

Although there’s still uncertainty about when One UI 6.1.1 will be rolled out, there have been rumors of delays in the development of One UI 7. The upcoming update is expected to introduce several new AI features, which Samsung highlighted on July 15 following Unpacked.

Additionally, the S24 series is expected to receive an HDR enhancement as part of these updates.
