ChromeOS introduces keyboard shortcuts and custom mouse button support
ChromeOS now supports keyboard shortcuts & custom mouse buttons, enhancing user experience & productivity.
Google released ChromeOS update M123, introducing customizable keyboard shortcuts, mouse button customization, and enabling hotspot connections on cellular Chromebooks. Additionally, April updates include bug fixes and enhancements for Pixel Watches and Pixel phones from 5A and up. The new keyboard shortcut feature allows users to assign specific actions to key combinations, similar to other operating systems. Mouse button customization lets users configure additional buttons, such as turning a side button into a mute button.
Google also introduces per-app language preferences for Android apps on ChromeOS and enhances offline text-to-speech voices. Updates will roll out gradually. On Pixel Watch, Google adds its version of Taptic Time and improves auto-brightness setting clarity. The Pixel April update addresses camera stability and biometrics bug fixes.
