Amazon Introduces Additional AI Resources for Sellers, Including AI Capable of Constructing Product Pages Using External Site Data.

Sellers on Amazon will soon have the ability to create product pages by simply copying and pasting a link. Amazon is introducing a new generative AI functionality that extracts details from a seller's external website to automatically generate a comprehensive Amazon product page, including written descriptions and images. According to Mary Beth Westmoreland, Amazon's VP of worldwide selling partner experience, the aim is to assist sellers in streamlining the process of transitioning products from other websites to Amazon.

Amazon cautions sellers that when opting to paste a URL to generate a product page, they must possess ownership, rights, or a valid license for the content included in the link. Failure to comply may result in legal action from Amazon if it discovers that the seller misrepresented their ownership of the website.

The feature is currently rolling out and is expected to be accessible to US sellers in the upcoming weeks.

According to Westmoreland, sellers have warmly embraced the AI tools introduced by Amazon thus far. For instance, Amazon's AI-powered product text generation service witnesses approximately "80 percent" of users approving AI-generated listings with minimal human intervention.

Over recent months, Amazon has introduced numerous AI tools. These include tools for sellers to generate photos and craft product listing descriptions. For consumers, Amazon introduced Rufus, an AI chatbot aimed at addressing buyers' inquiries about products, suggesting similar items, and facilitating model comparisons. Although not flawless - the chatbot occasionally made jokes or composed songs about products upon request.

Amazon has been heavily investing in generative AI across its entire operation. Its cloud service AWS hosts multiple AI models and has also introduced a text-to-image generator. AWS serves as the backbone for AI operations on the e-commerce platform.
