It pledges to deliver a "contemporary and immersive viewing experience" later in the year.

Twitch is undergoing a major redesign of its mobile app, the first since 2019, with a focus on the discovery feed becoming the new landing page. The update, expected later this year, aims to provide a more modern and immersive viewing experience. Users will now be able to easily share quick updates, including uploading short video stories directly from the mobile app.

The discovery feed, currently an "experiment," will showcase real-time updates by blending streams from followed users with recommended content. New features include the ability to create and upload short video stories, pinch-to-zoom in photos, and share portrait videos to stories. Twitch moderators on iPhones will gain access to mod tools for the first time, with plans for the tools to roll out to iOS later this year.

Looking ahead, 2024 updates for Twitch will also include revised community guidelines, featuring clearer harm definitions and more severe penalties for certain types of harassment. The platform aims to introduce tools to help users identify harassment more effectively, including preventive measures to block harassment before it appears in chat.

Additionally, Twitch's clip editor, criticized for enabling child exploitation, will be enhanced to facilitate easier content sharing. The update will allow creators and viewers to share clips to various social channels, including direct export to Instagram. The mobile app's comprehensive update, expected later this year, will also introduce the clip editor.
